Puerto Los Cabos
Golfing in Cabo: A Yearly Tradition at One of My Favorite Courses
Every year, I look forward to our annual trip to Cabo San Lucas, and there’s always one course that remains a staple in our rotation. Nestled between the beauty of the Baja desert and the deep blues of the Sea of Cortez, Puerto Los Cabos Golf Course is a 27-hole facility offers one of the most unique and enjoyable golf experiences I’ve encountered.
Designed by the legendary Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus, this championship layout never fails to deliver a round that’s both challenging and incredibly scenic. The combination of the meticulously manicured greens, dramatic desert dunes, and panoramic views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains creates an unforgettable atmosphere on every hole.
One of the things that I love most about this course is the comfort stations scattered throughout the round. Cabo golf courses are known for these, but this one was a pioneer in the area. They are the perfect place to relax and recharge, offering snacks, drinks, and a chance to take in the stunning surroundings.
Whether it’s the thrill of navigating the challenging terrain or simply enjoying the cool breeze off the sea, this course offers a well-rounded experience that’s perfect for players of all levels. I also love how the course is set in an exclusive gated residential area, which adds to the overall vibe of luxury and privacy.
Each of the three 18-hole combinations presents a fresh challenge, allowing me to mix up my game while still enjoying the familiar beauty of the course. The way the layout takes full advantage of Cabo’s natural landscape is remarkable—from the lush fairways to the stunning desert backdrop, every hole is a new adventure.
If you’re a golfer and find yourself in Cabo, this course is an absolute must-play. Whether you’re here for a casual round or a serious game, the timeless allure of the sport and the breathtaking setting will leave you wanting to come back year after year—just like I do.
